For arrivals by plane: airport Shannon (SNN) 90 minutes drive. Surrounded by mountains, with Ireland's highest mountain Carran Tuathail within a 30 minute drive.  Nearby Killarney is in the middle of the omonimous National Park and offers breathtaking views and plenty of scenic driving, cycling and walking routes of varying lengths and difficulties. There are also a number of places of historical interest like St. Mary's Cathedral, Ross Castle and the Muckross Estate. In town you will find a large number of excellent restaurants, lively pubs (many withlive traditional music), craft shops and a cinema. The resort is also known for its great choice of championship golf clubs such as the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club and Castlerosse Golf Club.
